What do you REALLY Want?

Posted in Getting Started on August 31st, 2010

Have you ever been in a situation where you thought you really want something and worked hard to get there Only to realise that it wasn’t something you really wanted in the first place!!

So, how do we know that the thing we want is the thing we really want BEFORE working hard towards it?

Well, One of the great ways to figure that out is to learn to listen to our Body and trust the sensations in our physical body that gives us intuitive information about people and situations and choices around us.

This can be done just by asking simple question like :

How Does this Goal feel in my Body ?

and check how does your body respond to this question.. when you think about that goal…how do you feel because that is the Sat-Nav of life!! Its an indicator to know if that is the thing that you really want.

Our bodies have profound ways to respond to a situation that feels good and vice versa. its our ability to tune in to that feeling that would determined how accurate we get . As most of us have been so disconnected with our bodies that we miss out the signals we constantly get in the shape of headaches, sore throats, backaches and other physical symptoms..Its important to get the signals our bodies are providing us..

Once we learn to trust the messages our body is giving we can then identify what we really want by having a certain sensation that feels good.. it may be a tingling sensation in our hearts or a light feeling in our heads.. its different for different people.. .the more we trust the better it gets as the better it gets the more we trust!!

How we feel is the only thing that matters and if something feels right it ends up being right!!

Good luck with this one!

Do you help everyone?

Posted in Getting Started on August 2nd, 2010

Throughout history people like Mother Teresa, Florence Nightingale , Abdul Sattar Ehdi and other altruist are regarded very highly for their work in human wellbeing.

Its human nature to help and it’s a feel good factor too. When we help someone with our actions, money, or even just a kind word, it gives us good feeling as well.

So, when does helping others turn to ‘over care’? And what is the potential challenge with it?

Essentially, ‘Over care’ doesn’t come from that centred, noble part of us that drives the Mother Teresa’s of the world. On the other hand, it comes from a place of lack.  We use the help-other attitude to escape from ‘helping ourselves’ as sometimes it’s much easier to give advice to others then to examine our own lives and we use  “ helping everyone” syndrome as a distraction to not helping ourselves.

This pattern is usually present due to our programming which says that “ people like those people who help others and put others first “  and it’s a good pattern as long as it serves us in helping our own selves too.

For Instance, if you have limited time yourself to do your own chores and you get a call from someone to help them with their issues… if you are running that program in your mind, most likely you will drop everything that’s important to be done for you and go to the rescue to the other person?

The important point here is to recognise the intention of you helping that person…

Stop!!!      And ask yourself these questions

Am I doing this because I like this person  and want to help them?

      OR

I want this person to like me?

Learn to tell the difference between honouring your own desires to genuinely make a difference in someone’s life and merely going along with others wishes out of a need of approval

Remember you can’t belong to anyone else until you belong to yourself

Just quieting down and asking a few simple questions will help you clarify your intention…

Good Luck with that…

Until Next Time,

LOVE, LAUGH AND BE HAPPY
